Kool Culture

The culture that Berliners have created is fascinating, and it’s waiting around every corner. Black, red and gold stripes on the German flag are said to represent determination, strength and generosity. The people of Berlin grappled with a history of violence and oppression and, in turn, created an innovative and accepting metropolis.

Art

Whether it’s a trumpet player on the subway or a graffiti artist at the park, art is the very essence of life in Berlin. It is without social or economic boundaries, and artists often display their work for enjoyment, rather than profit. On my way to Burgermeister (A fantastic, well-priced burger joint) I saw a man playing on a drum set made completely of old buckets, detergent containers and pans.

Relaxation

Berliners are fond of watching sunsets. Not only that, but they seem to enjoy leisure and bonding altogether. It’s beautiful to witness people enjoying the day outside a cafe or in the park. They truly know how to enjoy a good friend and fresh air.

Reborn

The landscape of Berlin is a clash between old and new. While modern buildings are churned out, the old structures are being repurposed. RAW-tempel is an art and entertainment project in the heart of a repurposed industrial complex. It includes a skate park, theater, rock climbing, mini-car tours, art galleries and bars.
